The second-born witch is never called on by her ancestors to take on the mantle to protect the veil. Only they’ve been sending Jolie dreams, visions her ancestors share including the sacred artifacts and spells. So she heads to her family’s hidden land and stumbles on a ruggedly handsome man and a mature boy at her first destination. After pulling out the wrong artifact, Death begins the chase - her companions and she must deter Death and gather the remaining artifacts and heal the veil if Mother Earth and all on this side of her are to survive.
